René Lerer, M.D.

Senior Advisor

Dr. Lerer, Chief Executive Officer of Longevity Health Plan, has more than 30 years of experience in executive management with leading, national health care organizations. Longevity is a national health plan focusing exclusively on the Institutional Special Needs Plans market. Most recently, he was President of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation, a $16 billion, not-for-profit health solutions company, the parent company of Florida Blue. Prior to joining the GuideWell organization, Dr. Lerer served as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magellan Health Services, now Magellan Health, a $5 billion, NASDAQ-listed specialty health care management company. Dr. Lerer serves on the board of directors of Longevity Health Plan of New York, York Risk Services Group, and on the board of HIAS.

Dr. Lerer holds a bachelor's degree in psychobiology from Oberlin College and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
